Inspiration and Fried Chicken: A Finger Lickin’ Good Week

I always look for inspiration as I travel across this beautiful country. This week, I found it from two very different men with ties to Louisville, Kentucky: Muhammad Ali and Colonel Sanders. I also continued my work with a program that aims to improve school nutrition, and spent more than two hours on stage at a cooking show in Tennessee. For me, the highlight of the week was connecting with a promising young man who dreams of becoming a chef. I love my life! Thank you for joining me on the journey.

A Monumental Week in Washington, D.C | Weekly Recap

What a monumental week we had in Washington, D.C. We taped an episode of “What America Eats,” appeared on “Let's Talk Live” visited with some dear friends, had a good cry with a retired Marine who taught me how to make Jamaican chicken stew, and caught up with my friend David from the American Culinary Federation. After a week of non-stop movement in the nation’s capitol, it feels good to spend a few nights at Happy Days Cottage. The stillness, beauty, and fresh air allow me to recharge before heading back out on the road next week. There are so many amazing places on my itinerary from Monday, May 8 through Friday, May 12! I am excited about visiting New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Kentucky,
