Anyone Can Cook Kitchen School: Learn to Cook Like a Chef

2 min read

Anyone can cook. I say it in every one of my Anyone Can Cook classes, and I mean it every time. Nobody is born knowing how to dice an onion or make a sauce. You learn one skill, you practise it on a recipe, and the next time it's easier. That's all a chef is: a cook who has practised more.

Chef Jon Ashton teaching a cooking class

This is my Kitchen School: short, free lessons on the skills that matter most, in the order I'd teach them. Each one explains why the technique works, what can go wrong and how to tell when you've got it right. Then it sends you to real recipes to practise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Every lesson and recipe on the site is free to read and cook.

Start with Salt 101, then Knife Skills for Beginners. Those two will improve everything else you cook.

Not much: a sharp chef's knife, a chopping board, a heavy frying pan and a big pot will take you through every lesson.
